Bio

 Greetings,

Formerly performing as the duo Medicine Creek, both Michael King and I have decided to focus on solo endeavors and songwriting.  We had a good run from 2017 to 2020 playing at Victorian Station in Phoebus, VA as well as Norfolk's Starving Artist Cafe and Sunset Grill out on Willoughby Spit.  The pandemic put a stop to that, and although we may appear as Medicine Creek on occasion - now that the world has re-opened we are both approaching life with a different view.  Michael has moved back to Norfolk from Virginia Beach, and I have retired from my pesky ‘day-job’ … allowing me greater focus on a fun second career!

As a child of the 60's in coastal North Carolina I grew up on AM radio, started playing ukelele as a youngster and shifted to acoustic guitar as the 70's ushered in a renewed focus on Bluegrass.  As a student at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I was a member of the Hardtimes Stringband - we had a blast!  Bluegrass & Americana remained a focus while in San Diego for a time, and these days, as a primarily solo performer, I play a selection of original tunes and other timeless Americana, Folks, Country & Blues music.
